De Bijenkorf, a well-known luxury department store with a solid online presence and several locations throughout the Netherlands, required a tailored locker system for their new head office in Amsterdam. WEWO Interior Concepts took on this project by installing 549 electronic lockers across five floors. The focus was to provide staff with a flexible locker solution that didn’t require memorizing pin codes or locker numbers, and to offer occasional visitors and students an easy-to-use, once-off locker solution.
In line with De Bijenkorf’s luxury branding, the lockers are designed with a custom touchscreen that blends into the environment seamlessly. Employees can easily choose a new locker each day using their existing staff cards, enhancing operational flow and convenience. For visitors and students, the lockers are accessible via the same user-friendly touchscreen, which features the recognizable style of De Bijenkorf, thereby reinforcing brand presence.
The locker management software centrally manages the system, providing features such as alarm notifications, malfunction reports, locker registration for cleaning or maintenance, reservation extensions or releases, and quick assignment of lockers to different users. This efficient management system simplifies the administrative workload, making the locker system not just a solution for the users but also a streamlined tool for the administrators.
